Welcome to my website, which is dedicated to my grandmother who was a 1920's professional dancer of the flapper-era. This era was a truly exciting decade with all the elegance, fashion and style of the "art-deco" flapper- culture. *These original images bring out the allure of the roaring 1920's and the beauty of the art-deco and art- Nouveau period.

As you can see my grandmother was not your typical dancer of the 1920's flapper era. She prided herself using her own unique style and creative costumes. She used Native American & east INDIAN themes in a few of her solo performances. Her unusual style and artisticness is what made her stand-out from from the crowd. **I have attached a letter dated from 1925,that was sent to my grandmother *from the famous JENSEN&VON HERBERG THEATERS; it is from the "Peoples theater" in Portland,Oregon-thanking her for her performance in the: "salome of the Tenements" (Click here to view letter)

I have also attached a newspaper-clip, showing my grandmother in Tribal-costume. (PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW)

UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT HAVE ANY COMPLETE NEWSPAPER-ARTICLES ABOUT MY GRANDMOTHER'S DANCING CAREER.I DO KNOW THAT SHE PERFORMED AT THE FAMOUS "COTTON-CLUB" AND VARIOUS THEATERS IN CHICAGO, SEATTLE, PORTLAND AND SAN FRANCISCO. SHE DANCED RIGHT UP TO THE DEPRESSION 1929 AND STUDIED REAL ESTATE IN SAN FRANCISCO AFTER THAT..My grandmother passed away in 1976; I was only 14 years old then and I really didn't find out about her "dancing-career" till I was in my twenties...These images are some of the best ones I have and I think you will enjoy their timeless beauty...
